What's the fastest/best way to get shards?

The Notice of the Well comes from the weekly strike target, which you can find here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=251519
This week it's STF/RSF. Note that you can only get the Notice/bonus merits/bonus XP once per character per week.
You can craft the Alpha powers using the components from the trials (there's a scroll bar on the right with alternate recipes that use the trial salvage). I'm not sure if it's the absolute most efficient method available, but you can trade Astral Merits for shards, so running a bunch of BAFs for Astrals is actually probably a fairly efficient method for farming shards, not to mention all the components and iXP you can collect for the other slots.
Nice i'm doing the stateman's TF right now, and it's pretty decent shard collecting too.
one thing is it's not really related but maybe someone will know.
while fighting mako and scricco at the last mission. i keep on getting these crazy sound loops. couldn't figure out why or how it start happening? i knew i heard about these sound loop problems years ago, but not sure what is the solution to fix it? do you happen to know or anyone know? heh
for the last 4 AVs it's driving me crazy listening to the sound loop over and over and over again...

Another route, since you are running iTrials, is to go to the Astral Vendor in ouroboros, and mail your Astral merits to yourself as shards. May seem expensive, but to be honest, I've never been lucky enough to get more than THREE shards from a TF, let alone five.
I've found hami raids to be great for shard generation.
The ITF is king of shard drops because higher ranked foes have a higher chance to drop shards and the ITF is chock full of Bosses and EBs. Make sure you're on a steamroll version and not speed versions.

Another thing you can try is just using Incarnate Threads, since all slots pretty much can use Threads for their components now.
just curious? what's the best/fastest way to get shards? if it's running TFs or such any suggestions as to which TF would be the best/fastest one to run to get shard to get T4 Alpha slotted?
I only got Alpha slotted to T2 and notice T3 need the a Notice of the Well, and T4 need a Favor of the Well. Any TF actually have a chance of dropping those? or you just have to craft it with lots of shards?
I'm running BaF/LaM so i just recently got Alpha to T2 and Judgement to T2, but i notice they don't drop shards for the alpha stuff. so hence, where or what do you do to get lots of shards in the fastest way possible?
