ATI user here as well.
Hi, Chad Gulzow-Man. I've had some issues as well; same with my husband. I can't be 100% sure of his video but I am fairly sure that mine's ATI... I use the Catalyst package, and have stayed with the lower 11.5, if I remember rightly, because it hasn't given me problems. My computer is quite new, quite high-end (can't remember specifics right now), and when I did the update that was prompted to me by Windows to upgrade to 11.7, that's when I had most of the issues. I was able to revert back down. My question is this... Is the 11.9 the Catalyst package? And, how reliable is it compared to the earlier versions?

11.5 was decent. I kept running that. 11.6-11.8 crashed the game pretty hard. 11.9 is what I'm running now with no issues - HD5770 1Gb, no Crossfire.
There are instructions on doing a clean driver install - basically,
head to phyxion.net (not guru3d, they stopped carrying this,) grab driversweeper.
Grab the 11.9 package from ATI.
Uninstall drivers from add/remove (or programs and features.)
Reboot in safe mode.
Run driversweeper to get all the ATI stuff out.
Reboot - don't let Windows try to install anything.
Run the new ATI drivers.
Enjoy.
Here's a link to the latest driver: http://www2.ati.com/drivers/11-9_vis...dd_ccc_ocl.exe
Before installing it, please make sure you completely uninstall your existing video driver, then run Driver Sweeper (or equivalent driver removing software) in Safe Mode to ensure you've got all the old files and registry settings deleted.
You're not having an issue with the game itself; it's a problem with the way ATI had been handling OpenGL graphics all summer. If you're going to get pissy with someone, then do it with the people who screwed up the damn drivers.
