My experience leveling a Traps/Beam up to 21 so far is that most of the Beam attacks are pretty lame.
This may be just me not being used to low-end (0-20) damage or Defender damage. But man it feels weak.
This is particularly true of Disintegrate which MIDS lists as EXTREME dmg DOT or something and in practice seems to do very slow tics of 6 dmg to +1 mobs. Very slow. Like, O.o?
Lancer Shot seems to be the only hard-hitting attack and isn't even all that like Blaze. Outside of Concept I'm just sort of scratching my head over the whole set.

I haven't gotten beam rifle yet personally, but am thinking of making a sonic/beam rifle defender.
