Sonic/EM blaster still viable for PvP?

Most people run Psi/EMs now but sonic and fire are both good. If you plan to do team pvp most people would prefer you to have a Psi

New animation yes, not faster tho. Sonic has some slow animation's.
I rarely pvp on blasters, but i think most would go with the fire/em.
Sonic would be better on 8 man teams with you leading the spike with a PB'd Screech.
not even sure what kind of attack chain you'd use.
maybe Screech>Shreik>Scream?
or Shout>Shreik>Scream?
perma jump is ---> /up 1
Been gone a few years, and since there are new SONIC animations I think I can stand to level up my 32 Sonic/EM. Links to builds or guides much appreciated
I also have a 42 Fire/EM if the Sonic -RES doesn't do much.
