Dark/Battle Axe build

I'm thinking about a next character to make and Battle Axe is the only melee set I haven't taken for a spin yet. So I'm considering pairing it with Dark Armor.

I made a build and I think it may violate one of my personal build commandments that the pursuit of bonuses should not be at the expense of powers that make you more effective in the end.

What I mean is, I approached the build with the intent of soft-capping def to s/l/e/n and mission accomplished (Yes I know e/n is a smidge under 45), but at the expense of offense.

What I don't like:

Endurance in attacks. Eradication offers trivial Endurance enhancement, yet the set is key for e/n def.
Damage in aoes. It sucks. With only 3 slots I made I sure had enough accuracy for +3s and tried to add damage where I could. Still, the +damage enhancements are only around 33% for the hard-hitting aoes.
I could steal the Crushing Impacts I paired with Kin Combat, but doing so would leave those attacks woefully underslotted for Accuracy with the pathetic Kin Combat accuracy enhancements.

Couple of notes - I would intend for this to be a team "heavy tank". Not a farmer, not a soloer, but someone to own aggro and survive the toughest encounters.

So, if you, the Tank community could take a moment to see if you think this is viable for my intentions, I'd appreciate it.

Personally I'd characterize it as sacrificing attack slotting for recharge bonuses. For instance, Op Gloom does not need to be so heavily slotted, you could pull four of them and make a dent in slotting your AoEs properly. IMO, the recharge bonus is absolutely not worth having such lousy slotting in your AoEs.

You should also consider moving the three slots of Cleaving Blow from DS to one of the AoEs, since as it is DS is really underslotted for end reduction. It won't be as much of a problem in another attack.

Moving slots from Op Gloom will take care of two of the AoEs, but you'll need another two slots from elsewhere. My first choice would be to shave a couple of slots off the epic attacks, though that also might mean you'll lose the recharge bonus in Fossilize as well.

Some other slotting issues:

Dark Regen is very underslotted for end reduction, I'd use a couple of Hea/End or Heal/End/Rchg IOs instead of the Touch of the Nictus.

Your resistance toggles are very overslotted for end reduction and underslotted for resistance. Drop the End IO for a Res/Rchg in DE and MC at least, though I'd do it in Tough as well.

I think you should also consider dropping one of the epic powers (four seems like overkill) and pick up Hasten instead. That will more than make up for the lost recharge bonuses.

I like those edits a lot, thanks much. I liked them so much I'd say the odds of my making this guy shot from 5% to 25%.

Yeah I went deeper into the epic pool than I might usually, but I thought all 4 powers had value.

Stone Prison to immob annoying running AVs.
Fossilize because I have a personal rule of thumb for any of my characters to take a hold (though not all do).
Stalagmites for stun stacking with OG, the main reason I went for this epic.
Quicksand to keep the stunned enemies from wandering off.

Anyway, I think it's at a good point for fine-tuning. Again, thanks Finduilas.
