I was looking at my Ninjas/Pain mastermind (and wondering "Why did I do this?" again, but it's fun) and trying to find a way I can improve it. (No, I'm not asking for ideas here.)
One of the things that crossed my mind was making my one attack (Aimed Shot) do something more than tickle the bad guys. So I looked at the procs available. Since all it does is ranged damage (no knockback, no debuff to slot for,) there's basically nothing I can use with it. (A chance for hold, I think I saw.)
I'd like to see just some generic "proc" IOs. Chance for hold, chance for confuse (maybe,) chance for the various damage types. I know they can make them - I looked on the VIP beta server and they have the preorder (1-20?) setless IOs from one of the preorders there that do damage/end/chance for smashing/lethal/psi/knockdown in them. And Interface does it for every damage power once you unlock it, so it's not really an "out there" suggestion, but Interface doesn't help me from 1-50.
I'd just like to see more for the sets that are kind of limited in what they can slot for.
I don't think they'd need to be watered down at all. They're already "chance for" something to happen, and by putting them in you're reducing the set bonuses from other sets, after all. But it would make the powers that don't have a lot going for them IO-wise have a few more options.
Wanted: Origin centric story arcs.
If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.
