Endgame Kin/Dark
First, gratz on tweaking an old style defender. I have always respected the Kin/Dark build.
I 'messed' with only the powers you left slotting open on. I wasn't sure if the number of slots in siphon power and siphon speed were negotiable. I did tweak speed boost, putting one slot in increase density and one slot in transference.
I added some proc's for more mezz resistance. I popped a winter's gift in inertial reduction. I played it straight up with IO's except for Tenebrous Tentacles. Since you have characters from I1, I jumped to a risky conclusion that you may have a couple Hammi-ohs for your immobilization in tenebrous tentacles.

The number of slots in any of the powers is actually negotiable, I just kinda put the remaining slots wherever after I was done softcapping S/L. If you felt like shifting around the stuff I already had in to softcap in a different way without switching powers, it would be alright, as well.
Yeah, my character may be old, but the amount of playtime I have isn't really, so I don't have any Hami-Os, but I wouldn't be adverse to looking for them to help give this build a boost.
So I've gotten around to attempting to softcap S/L defense on my Kin/Dark defender that I've had since pre-i1. I think I have what is a pretty unique way to get there, but I have no idea what to slot in the rest of the powers. I really don't feel like I'm missing much power-wise, so I'd rather not have any suggestions to go with Scorpion Shield for easy capping. A lot of the power choices such as Leadership are build requirements for the SG I'm in, and the levels at which Siphon Power, Speed Boost, and ID are taken. Any suggestions for my build would be much appreciated.
