If I'm not mistaken it takes 30 Incarnate Threads worth if iXP to unlock the first slot and 45 to unlock the second. Therefore, you could feasibly unlock all four slots beyond Alpha with 15 Tin Mage/Apex TFs and zero trials.

and Chad, you are correct but they do not give incarnate xp, with threads or shards and cash you can also open a slot, a foolish way to spend your threads/shards in my opinion. But thanks for responding to my post.
If you're actually doing the trials and just using the thread->iXP conversions to bolster what you're already earning otherwise, they drop so frequently that you won't really miss them. I used plenty of threads for iXP on both of my Incarnate characters and still had T3s crafted by the time the slots were unlocked.

Have been trying to find out how many trials must be completed by a given character in order to open a single non-alpha slot. From what I've seen since I20.5 came out is it will take 30+ missions to open a single slot and I think instead of fixing the previous xp system's problem with unbalanced xp across the league the current system is overall more dysfunctional in compairison. With the current stucture I have well over enough components to be into tier 3 before a slot is open which makes me wonder why is there a tier 1 and tier 2 at all? If i cash in my merits I can be at tier 4 by the time the slot is open. Why is there a T1 and T2 again?
I have never had plans to make all my 50's incarnate but there are some I do want to get there. I've already been on close to 100 BAF's and although I am not getting tired of watching Mother Mayhem's cleavage I am getting very tired of the actual mission. I wish the Dev's would have thought ahead better and made Tin Mage and/or Apex work toward incarnate slots or giving them an option to, at least it would be more variety. The Keye's trial is a good option, too bad so many people will not do one. I actually like that trial.
I never got this tired of baby new year and for my characters that havent opened their incarnte slots I will have to run the same mission over 60 time to open 2 slots.
I have to wonder if this is working as intended, or if it needs to be fixed.
