Returning after over a year off

Well, I am back on the road truck driving (Am an owner Op and will soon be taking on students for extra cash) so I can afford to play the game again (BTW, I will NEVER play a ftp game, as you loose way too much in game play). Now that I have reactivated my account and got back in game, I can not figure out how to play my toon, SOOOOOOO. Time to roll a new one...I do not have Rogue yet, I plan on buying that this week, so I am thinking that I should not roll a new toon until then. BUT, when I do, I am wondering, what are some of the better soloists. I say solo because as a truck driver, who will also have students, I will not have more than a couple of hours a week to be able to play and I can be quite certain that it will be at such extreme;ly odd hours that I will be more than unlikely to find a team of any sort. I still have my AV killer ,which eventualy I will gut out (DM/SD), that Powerforge helped me build (Thank you Powerforge) in 2009...Gods, has it been that long since I played this game???
So, as I rambled on and lost the subject in that last paragraph someplace, I am looking for a build, any ideas would help, that once I can get Preatoria (rogue right?) that I will be able to solo with up to 50. I have read that MM's are still very strong soloists. I can make one, as they are relitively simple to build, but a question about the new MM at, demon summoning...How is it? I cant seem to find much about it on the boards. I will delve a bit deeper after I post this. But, since a Thug/pain MM was my first 50 I am not sure I would want to have THAT kind of control again, but I know I kicked ALOT of **** with it. I would prefer something a bit more soloish, at the most, one pet (Dom pet maybe?) but preferably no pet at all, but still extremely survivable.

Ya, I recieved the email about the ftp when freedom is released, but I wont be going ftp, I will continue to pay to play.
My playstyle has been always cenetered on melee, but I did get a crab up to 50 solo, and if I remember, he can solo the wall in Cim. I also ahve a thug/pain at 50 in which I soloed, a 50 ss/invuln brute and a bane who has soloed a couple of AV's and a Dm/Sd who I WAS building to beomce an AV hunter. But, basicaly, my best moments have always been melee, which is where my strengths lie.
I am hoping to be at a different truck stop tomorrow night in which their wireless internet does not have the ports closed so I can actualy play the game, the truck stop I am in today and probably tonight has those particular ports closed so I can not play the game (Nor download anything from p2p sites.
BTW, I just bought rogue. I see some new power packs...what are those about? ONe said something about if you use the powers it may give your enemy an advantage? Do you actualy get new powers from packs that you can buy now? hrmm, if this is the case, I may have to buy all of them in the comming days (I am and was a freak for the costume packs).Come to think of it, the last time I played, I had just bought the magic pack, maybe about 2 months after that was released I had to quit the game for financial reasons (wont be having that problem again).
