DP/Dev Advice

I decided to roll a Dual Pistols/Device Blaster. I've always wanted to try the Dev secondary because of it's more "self-buffing" and "Setup" style. However, I noticed a distinct lack of Dual Pistol/* guides. I like that DP seems to have a lot of versatility.

So, anyone with experience on Dual Pistols have build advice? Whats good? Whats not?

Thanks in Advance!

I don't have experience with DP, but after playing with mids it looks pretty cool.

I would skip Dual Wield, Surpressive Fire, and Taser.

Smoke Bomb is nice with only one slot but personally, i'd skip it.

Time Bomb you could go either way with that one. It's really only useful for "toe bombing"

Gun Drone isn't very impressive, but might as well take it.

I would use the Force Feedback proc in your AoE attacks.

I'd slot empty clips with a Achilles Heel proc and a FF proc and fire it every time its recharged. In fact i think this power might be your bread n butter aoe.

I'd probably even spring for a purple in it.

Level 4: Empty Clips

  • (A) Ragnarok - Accuracy/Recharge
  • (5) HamiO:Centriole Exposure
  • (5) HamiO:Centriole Exposure
  • (7) HamiO:Centriole Exposure
  • (7) Force Feedback - Chance for +Recharge
  • (13) Achilles' Heel - Chance for Res Debuff

This build doesn't need Hasten at all unless you want Trip Mine to be up fast..

think imma go make a DP for myself

perma jump is ---> /up 1

I'm greedy and always look to see how I can make a build to handle max settings. That being said what are you looking to do with the build ? If your just going for 0/0 or 0/1 setting ( BTW how in the world do you go back to 0/0 setting ) then anything is fine.

But if your going for some higher settings then I have issue with the shortness in range that DP has with many of its AOE attacks. I tested out Hail of Bullets and it works while hovering so I guess you can go range cap and hover blast with the build.

But the shortness of HOB will bring you close to the mobs which means some of there shorter range attacks will be hitting you as well. Perfect example is fire breath in crey fire farm mobs. Where as if your further away they are limited in attacks and the attack cycle is slower. So mixed in with Range cap and a decent regen you can farm that mish with hover blasters.

I have extensive experience with /devices.

Must-have powers: web grenade, caltrops, targeting drone, cloaking device.

Solo powers: trip mine, time bomb. Great fun solo, harder to use regularly on a team. Time bomb does a lot of damage despite its limitations.

Useful situationally: taser (only if you have another disorient to stack it with), smoke grenade (helps to stealth your team, but the debuff is weak and cloak gives you better personal stealth), gun drone (long interruptible animation and relatively short duration makes this hard to use in a fast group).

Caltrops and targeting drone make the set.
