Incredibly annoying buzzing sound

Not an expert on these things, but if it persists when muted, it sounds like some form of electromagnetic interference. What happens if you move the speakers away from your PC and monitor?

What kind of speakers? Do the speakers connect to a soundcard, to motherboard audio jacks, or to a USB port (some do, bypassing any built-in PC sound)? Have you updated your drivers? If you're using a discrete soundcard, have you tried moving it to a different slot?

Another suggestion, from my techie wife: to guarantee it's either software or hardware, does the buzzing persist if you unplug the speakers completely? If it does, it's a hardware issue. If not, then it's something in either your speakers or PC (and could be software).

When I open COH I get a really annoying buzzing sound through my speakers. At first I thought it was my speakers themselves or the connection, but after some testing the only time I get the feedback is when I open this game. Browsers don't cause it, other games don't cause it...I'm at a loss. Even when I hit mute the buzzing persists. And then as soon as I close the application it goes away. Could it be related to other hardware or components?
Any help is appreciated.
