I didn't mean to say there was I'm just happy I'll be able to make my heroic Stalkers and Masterminds and my evil Scrappers without sending them through the next best thing to a presidential election campaign. Praetorian has a cool storyline, most definitely, but it also has a very restrictive storyline that only works for certain concepts. Now that I'm not FORCED to do it, I suspect I'll enjoy the environment a lot more when I actually choose to do it.

Your statement that villains' inherent powers bring people to fight in a villainous style is untrue: there is perhaps nothing better for a heroic melee character than the Brute's Fury mechanic. While I agree that becoming angrier and smashing everything isn't heroic, pulling your punches until an enemy proves to be a real threat absolutely is, and Fury can represent that exactly as well as it represents what it was originally thought out to be.

I can't tell how long you've actually been around, but you may not be aware that even before CoV and Issue 6, there were people who played "villains." In CoH. Using "heroic" ATs. With various disguises and excuses.

People are going to play what they want to play.

EDIT: And really, OP, you could have avoided all the fine-print asides and just said "I like black and white morality in my comic book game, and also, I can't find teams on my tiny server with its even tinier redside." Both of which are honest and understandable statements.

And they should not just be allowed to, but encouraged to. It never ceases to astound me how some people think it's a good idea to take away MY options in some doomed attempt to make me play the game their way. Not gonna' happen. Let every person play what they want, how they want it, where they want it and trust the players to come up with explanations and justifications.

If I want to play a hero who happens to be a Brute and happens to play like a Brute, then LET ME. I clearly want to play a Brute, I clearly want to play a hero, so why not let me eat my cake and have it, too? It's an escapist fantasy.
