Floor tiles and Glass panes

One upon a time, we used to have floor tiles that communicated and would morph into one gigantic floor tile. I used to used this feature to mimic blankets for beds and what not. But it no longer seems to be working. Just me, bug? Or known issue?

Also you used to be able to sort of switch your SG logs around during build in order to make the glass divider panes show a different logo. ( Useful for adding the red cross logo to the med bay you know?) Not only does this no longer seem to to work, I can get thenumerous tiles in my base to revert to norm. Is there a trick to doing this that Im not recalling or was it "fixed".

There are a great many broken things with bases that need fixing, and a great many things that used to be broken in a useful way that have been fixed. Unfortunately at this stage, getting Paragon to do anything more than ask for yet another in an already long string of "base concerns" lists, or wave a dismissive hand at base development in general, is futile.

If I sound cynical... I am. So are a lot of base builders, these days.

Anyway, as a direct answer to your two questions:
1) I don't ever remember ANY smaller objects that "morphed" into larger, consolidated objects, ever being part of the base building system. Might have been before my time; I've only been here just over 4 years.
2) Yes, as far as I know, they inconveniently "fixed" the glass (and holographic) SG logo items. I'm just glad I created our SG's "indoor target range" before that. But I haven't been able to duplicate that in some time.

Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.

Not to sound defeatist, but I think at this point bases are pretty much the way they are going to be from now on. The ROI for work on bases by the devs is really going to be a negative number, so there is no point for them to do anything. Over the years I have done would I could to get the devs to listen to our concerns to no avail. The fact is that they can't even be bothered to add existing items to the base building menu, which I can't imagine would take too much programming time.

Bases are done. Folks probably ought to just find new creative outlets or be content with what we have. I expect exactly zero response from the devs beyond this point.

I just asked becuase I wasnt sure if I were missing some part of a process to get the items to do what I recalled(I REMEMBER THE MAGIC DESK RITUAL). Im not complaining. i was just seeking an answer to an honest question. And you never know, the devs might drop a bit of base love on us when we least expect. Could happen.

Wishful dreaming, Rabbit. I would love to be able to hope that bases would get attention, but it's been how many years now since we've seen anything? Two? Three? Even then it was to "fix" things that people had made use of for other purposes.

I'm not holding my breath.

Don't remember things that could morph as you mentioned. The few floor tiles we have that I've used as blankets are on the same list as Safes and all the plants and trees. There are three near the end of the list.

Good to see you join the base editing crew, Wild! As for "morph into one gigantic floor tile", do you mean something like this?

That's our fitness center. The boxing ring has one large white floor tile with a smaller SG emblem floor tile underneath. When placed together, the SG emblem floats above the floor tile creating a "morphed" effect.

I used SG floor tiles for bedspreads as well.. though not as attached to other tiles. Just in case, this is what my vg base's bunk looks like...

Is that what you meant?

I'm still seeing mixed emblems in my base. Example below shows two SG floor tiles with different colors on the emblems and a glass panel with different colors than our SG colors:

To achieve this effect, I'd lay each of the one kind of tile then change the emblem and/or colors before laying down a different sort of SG floor tile. For example, I'd select green stars on a light blue floor tile and lay down all of the light blue floor tiles... then select pink hearts before laying down light beige floor tiles.. but not return to the blue floor tiles while still using pink hearts as my SG emblem.

Hope that works for you. Skype me if you need help. It has a "show your screen" option for calls and I can walk you through it.

Thanks so much for the reply and pictures.
I want you to know that your base is one of the 3 reasons I blew the dust off my floor tile and safe.

I do seem to be getting base edit lag WAY to soon though. Anyone else having problems with that?
