Vet powers/badges purchasable? Hope not

A bit of a necro but thanks for the collective info guys and gals. I guess I wouldn't mind if the temps were able to be purchased but the badges I have a problem with.

On that note how about the yearly anniversary badges? I mean if they let you purchase these kinds of badges they become absolutely worthless overall...

Imagine someone who comes into the game at the launch of Freedom and a week later they have all the vet, anniversary and every other badge. Would be worse then the Winter lord kids lol...

That goes for the reward which lets you get your major travel power without having to get the first two tiers, and the "Fog of War" remover.

I think that the rewards themselves should be available through Paragon Points, but the 3-month badges (all the way up to 84-months+) have to be earned. I hope that the badges will continue to be issued to us in 3-month increments. I luvz my shinies!
As a badge collector I would want to buy vet badges to get caught up.

If anything though I'd like to see a way to buy anniversary badges since there never was another way added to earn those that you missed.

I still believe there maybe a miscommunication between the devs and the player base regarding this. I can't believe they would allow anyone, regardless of accumulated Reward Points, to just simply "buy" an 84 month vet badge. The power, sure, but the badge is a distinct symbol of actual Subscription Veteran Time.

The next uStream needs to have this clarified.

So my original thought of indirectly buying badges was correct

A New player can sign up to the site, purchase points thus earning Reward Tokens for each 1200 points they purchase, allowing them to use to unlock the Vet rewards and badges. So if the new member wanted to spend the money he/she can purchase enough Points to earn enough Reward Tokens to unlock all the Vet badges in the Tiered Tree.

Color me disappointed, then. I don't have a problem with people paying extra for extra rewards. I have a problem with people paying someone to say that they've been a part of the game for seven years.

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

While they may be able to get the costumes and powers from the Vet rewards, do they actually get the BADGE? I'm guessing no. So while someone may have the boxing outfit or samurai armor, they won't have the corresponding Vet badge.

Of course they will get the badge...lol

What makes a badge any more or less important than a costume that is a vet costume? They both represent the same thing, they are a vet player. Still don't believe me I'll come back on it's launch date and say "I told ya so again"

You can then use Reward Tokens to unlock Paragon Rewards. All the same badges from the Veteran Rewards program can still be unlocked in the Paragon Rewards program. You can choose to reslot them as rewards. Or you can choose different rewards. The choice is yours--and you'll get more rewards than you would have gotten under the Veteran Rewards program because the conversion grants you credit for your subscription time.

Since it says choose to reslot... umm think we can pretty much directly buy them like the christmas ones

Or... They could break the connection between the Veteran Reward Badges and the rewards...

So every three months subscribed you still get vet badges, every year subscribed you get one of the new year badges, and the rewards are tracked instead with the charity rewards thermometer. The only thing they'll likely remove is the place holder badges for claiming the powers (making them certificates instead), and they never counted.
