I can't believe Jennifer Aniston is getting one for her MOVIE work!
TV work, yeah, I can see that. She was one of the most popular TV characters going for a while whilst Friends was on the go, hell, she even had the Rachel hairdo, but what movie stuff has she done to deserve a star? Marley and Me??

It took this long for him to get his star? Apparently no one informed him to pony up the 12K to get his name considered. 
This year's Hollywood Walk of Fame selection committee chose Adam West as one of the recipients in the television category to receive a star on the Walk of Fame. (Walter Koenig was also chosen in the same category.)

A lot of people put a lot of time and money into making it happen and I'm sure there are folks here who would join me in congratulating Mr. West on being so honored.
The acceptance ceremony can happen any time in the next five years, and there are details like actually manufacturing the star tile and picking spot for it and installing it and what not, so I expect it will be a while before you can walk down the street in Hollywood and take a look at it.
