Is Elec that bad??

Hi all, I'm making another corruptor, I already have a rad/dark that is pretty epic but I fancy something different, I seen a few threads where elec is seen as a pretty bad set, but what if it was paired with /cold?, I'm thinking start fight with sleet then run in and sapp them?. Also dark mastery to get soul drain, which on a build I have in mind is 3 secs off perma. Let me know what you guys think, and has any 1 played this combo??. Thanks johnny.

Elec isn't that bad. It's not as good as Fire, but then, not much really is.

IMO it suffers from a lack of a tier 3 blast. Voltaic Sentinel doesn't really make up for it. However, it does have pretty decent AoE with SC and Ball Lightning. The utility of the hold and the sapping is pretty good, but you'll probably want to pair it with a secondary that can sap too. Kinetics or Thermal might work.

My recommendation for Elec would be Elec/Kin. The Kin damage buffs will bring your damage up a lot, the recharge will help you spam your AoEs and Transference will help you sap much more effectively.

Elec/Cold will also work, there's just not as much synergy. Cold is a fantastic set, but a little rough to solo pre-35 so you may run into some difficulties.
