I don't really have any set preferences, my playtime is split between A) Whatever I feel like doing, and B) whatever happens to be starting when I log in.
The two are not necessarily mutually exclusive, but if I don't feel like doing something I'll pass on it, even if it's the only thing being started.

This, by miles. I much prefer Task Forces and Strike forces over the damn trials. And Strike forces have always been more fun to me than Task Forces (even though I haven't done any in a while o.o).

I do both. I enjoy the new trials for what they require (teamwork and coordination) some of them are a bit laggy though.
I love the "New" taskforces (Imperious, Lady Grey, Sutter, Kal, LRSF; STF) the villainide SFS are far better than the heroside TF*s though...(especially Synapse. Synapse needs a positron-style remake)
The old trials tends to be rather buggy with lack of good interface tools, so I avoid them.

Trials by miles.
This is mainly counting the old trials, though. Cavern of Transcendence, Abandoned Sewer Trial, Eden... And the respec ones, although they're a bit more mini-TF.
One unique instance with unique tasks over a bunch of generic maps maybe leading to a unique map/foe.
Still sad redside doesn't really have trial content. Oh, and I love the incarnate trials, but I hate doing them. Why is this? Well, cool and unique in multiple ways ... but that kinda goes away when doing them for the umpteenth time in a month, just trying to get that darn reward.
