Graphics glitch then crash

Posted

Hello -

I'll get to the point. I'm experiencing a weird problem that I simply do not understand. I hope someone can help.

Starting today, I've had graphic glitches and random crashes. The graphic side has characters and NPC's skipping around. They appear to be rubber banding or "blinking" whenever the character or NPC walks from point a to b. When I try to move, I'm bouncing around too. I know this is nuts but, I can drop through the "floor" sometimes into black space... or through a wall.

I'm also crashing. I notice that these are happening when there is alot of objects to draw... especially spell effects.

The last crash I got a new popup that said...
BasePower not found: <6.38.1>
NOTE: this is likely due to a data mismatch between the client and the server.

So far I have updated drivers, used driver cleaner, and cleaned the heat sink.

Anyone?

I'm certainly not the best helper in the techforum, but have you tried having the NCSoft Launcher "Repair" City of Heroes? Repair, and/or adding the -verify flag to your "extra command line parameters" under Properties of CoH might easily fix this problem.

A Client/Server problem usually means for whatever reason one of your CoH files didn't correctly update with a recent patch, and now whenever the game uses it it has problems because it no longer does what it's supposed to.
