Issues Reinstalling from NCsoft Launcher

So early tonight I started getting CoH crashes related to reports that certain files were corrupted, in particular a face texture, didn't write down the details because I was expecting it to be a quick fix.

Fine I thought, I'll just run repair on CoH. Well after running repair several times at the end of which I got a message that the repair had failed, I decided that I would simply uninstall and reinstall City of Heroes, re downloading from the NcSoft Launcher. Well that doesn't appear to be going so well.

It's trying to download: CityOfHeroes_Main_0.0.0.0To1900.201011031705.0.0.n cpatch for about the fourth time tonight. It finishes downloading that file...apparently a checksum or something fails and it starts downloading the thing all over again. Anyone else encountered this problem and anyidea how to fix it? Tomorrow I guess I'll start hunting for my CDs and try to run the install from there instead.

I have no fix for this, but i am having the same problem and took the same exact steps as you did. So i am at a loss at this point as well...hope something can fix this soon!!

i had the same problem... i solved it with unistalling the game.... reinstall it with the old coh updater.... and don't touching thenew installer atm

well I reinstalled from a disk, and tried to just use the CoH updater while skirting the NCSoft updater, but at some point the CoH updater just stalled out on me, so I tried switching back to the NCSoft updated and continued to get failures:

Error Code: 58 (FileGroupApplicationErrorRollbackNotAttempted):

Errors occurred while applying the patch,

and a rollback was not attempted.

The product is likely in an inconsistent state and should be repaired or reinstalled.

File could not be repaired: C:\Program Files (x86)\NCsoft\City of Heroes\piggs\sound2.pigg.
