Left-handed mousers, lend me you control scheme!

A few months ago I had the wonderful privilege of pinching a nerve in my back. Took me out of work for about a week and I got to enjoy some fun medicines in the meantime. Needless to say, I couldn't game. In fact, for a while, I couldn't even sit at my home computer desk without pain. At work I had to learn how to mouse with my left hand (thankfully, I'm left handed, so it went smoothly) because using my right hand would hurt.

Fast forward to now: the only reminder of the incident is I'm still mousing left-handedly and my right pointer finger (aka, "Mister Clicky") is still a little numb in the tip. But using my home computer is no problem, thankfully.

I had uninstalled COH so I'd be undistracted for some projects, and now with i20 out I'm wanting to tip-toe back in. But, my old control scheme (WASD and powers on the left hand, mouse and team stuffs on the right) isn't going to do me much good. Given the layout of the keyboard, a straight mirroring is impossible (particulary because the num pad is my teaming buddy). So, I need to restart and see where things go from there.

What works for you? How do you maneuver deftly around the keyboard, subjugating the mouse to your whims?

Try IJKL for WASD. Alternately, move over one for OKL; (bonus for this is your right hand is pretty much on home row; of course, this bonus only applies if you type via home row :P ).

I'm not a lefty, but I can understand your problem. One of the easiest fixes is to get a gaming keyboard that allows you to truly customize the keys to your needs. In this manner I suggest looking at Logitech's gaming series of keyboards.

I use the G15 (original) and can also suggest any of their G-series gaming devices. I also use the G700 gaming mouse with 11 programmable buttons.
