Help MA/WP Scrapper

I'm pretty new to CoH (6 months with a wee break in the middle) and I'm struggling to learn my way round Mids, decent slotting, sets and builds...etc. Only have 1 50 at the mo, a scrapper and I'm trying to work out what to do with him, so any advice on build is apreciated.

I'm guessing I should be aiming for softcap, 'cause my survivability can be variable. I'm guessing that the differences between when I'm feeling squishy and when I seem to be utterly invulnerable is due to different combinations of ATs and buffs on teams.

I'll post my current build, and also one I was planning to respec to. I thought I should ask advice though before I burn a respec and spend a load of inf on new IOs

And here's a build I had a go at in mids...still not soft capped, but defences are a lot better. Got rid of attacks I've not been using in my chain (swap CS for CK as apparently they're the same damage, and no knockback, woo!):

That's not bad at all. You'd be quite pleased with that.

Now, if I was gonna do it, here's what I'd go with instead: It's very similar to your build with a few....tweaks.

mean you're not getting the most life enhancement out of HPT? Doesn't underslotting it for hit points partly reduce the effectiveness of all the investment in regeneration rate elsewhere?

That's fantastic, thanks. Glad to know I was at least vaguely on the right track. I'll go through your build and see what I can learn

He was tweaking my build rather than starting from scratch, so that was originally my slotting. Was just trying to get as much S/L Defense as possible without understanding much else, heh. So you're saying it's most effective/optimal to slot HPT with another heal and forget the defense bonus?

(I've currently got it slotted with 4 res IOs from different sets and only the same 2 Numinas...so I'm getting neither the Def nor the extra HP, heh)
