(sorry if i'm posting in the wrong spot)

i have an idea for a new power pool set, or, at the very least, some weapon costume ideas.

how about SPEARS!
we have swords, axes, and maces.
and lets face it, since the release of 300 (the movie) haven't you REALLY wanted to make costumes based on it and reenact your favorite scenes with all the spear thrusts included, i know i have!

anyway, i digress!
i'll divide this into a few sections, (first post is going to be a huge post)
section #1 -visuals : describing different visual looks of various types of spears
section #2, powers : describing the powers available for the spears pool and why it would have this power.
soo

SECTION #1

there are several type of spear and spear type insruments, even though i call it "spears" we can include non-spear type polearms in this aswell
first off though, the spears
basic spear
it's a basic spear, it has a point on it, and it's got a long shaft, also can include a small pommel on the end (this spear is a classic greco-roman spear) point/pommel (the end cap) can be color tintable so we can get various materials, like bronze, gold, silver, or maybe even various "mysterious materials" (based on your color/own ideas, like green is a demonic metal material or something, use your imagination)

bone tip spear the tip is made from bone, or rock held together by rope possibly even have the rope/cord wrap all the way along the length of the spear. rope would be color tintable.

flint spear (i know the image is an arrow head but it's the same idea only a lil bigger then an arrow)
same idea/visuals as the bone tip spear, though tip may be a little more rough/jagged, both wrap and point are color tintable.

medeval spear similar to the basic spear, except all metal construction, spear point/shaft are color tintable, seperate colors. can/probably have some type of spine/designal pattern at the base of the spear where it connects to the shaft (not shown in picture but it would be roughly where the 2 extensions at the base of the spear head something like this )

wood spear (couldn't find a picture)
it's a spear of all wood, the point/tip is carved in, we've all seen these in movies and what not where hero is trapped in woods and takes a tree branch and sharpens the edge.. you get the idea. could have a barkest type pattern, maybe even a leaf sticking out of the end of it or something.leaf color tintable or if wrapped in bark, the under coating (spear could have little spots void of bark aswell as the point) color-tintable

bone spear (couldn't find a picture)
same as the wood spear only made from bones, could be of all white coloring or possible even have a vertabra look to it. non-color tintable

Rebar spear it's a chunk of rebar, doesn't even need to be sharpened, just beat the living daylights out of your foe with a blunt point spear!... can be sharpened aswell either way works.

tribal spear
goes good with the tribal sheild. feathers can be color tintable and tribal pattern on spear shaft can be color tintable aswell

chinese spear
similar to the basic spear, it has a frill near the spear head, can possibly be added to the ninja booster pack. frill is color tintable as is shaft

non-spear/spear like weapons

naginata1 naginato2
the naginato, is an asian pole weapon, similar to the halbert in western culture. it's pretty much a curved sword on a long pole could have a chinese/japanse/asian design on the blade, or on the shaft just under the blade. back part of blade can be color tintable, shaft can be color tintable, and dragon design can be color tintable
yari1 yari2
the yari, similar to the naginata, except it's a straight edge sword on a shaft, blade portion (both the sharp cutting edge and the mid section) can be color tintable aswell as the shaft, can have a design on the shaft or on the flat of the blade, both also color tintable

Halberd
a medeval weapon the halbert combined a spear and an axe/hook on a long shaft, foot troops used them for taking out cavalry. it's an axe, with a spear on top on a long pole. can be single or double sided axe, axe portion could have a design eteched into it (color tintable) or axe could also be of an interesting design itself, the axe was used for swinging chops, aswell as pulling to dismount the rider, so they had some pretty weird designs back in the day. shaft and head can be color tintable (2 different colors )

poleaxe similar to the halbert except with a much smaller/ nonexistant spear point, used more for chopping then stabbing

********* more to follow just saving post atm so i don't loss anything******

First off, welcome to the game!

Secondly, the place for this is probably down in the Suggestions and Ideas forum. However, you may want to take a look down there. There have been many suggestions for a Spears/Polearms powerset in the past, and you're likely to find some.

The major problem with the set is that it would use combat stances that are shared with no other power set in the game, requiring more work than other sets might be.

It's under the "For Fun" section, down under the Archetypes and Powers section.
