To answer your question in the Templar's thread about interest/participation, when... ugh, I forget who it was... regularly hosted Sunday night villain cc's, the turn out was usually a couple dozen people.
I think the key to a decent turn out is to advertise them here on the boards pretty regularly. Redside, folks aren't use to ccs, so getting together an impromptu one is probably not going net you anywhere near as many contestants as you'd get in AP.
