Great Interview
Interesting. Isn't this similar to how George RR Martin started the Wild Cards series of books?
His pen and paper superhero RPG group (who were other sci-fi authors) transferred their characters to short stories, then George edited them together and BAM! a franchise was born.
Craft your inventions in AE!!
Play "Crafter's Cafe" - Arc #487283. A 1 mission, NON-COMBAT AE arc with workable invention tables!
I hadn't thought of that but yeah. And I absolutely love the wild card series. The real difference here is that the Wild Cards group actually were established authors but this group was basically formed from role players with Melissa being the only author.

There is a podcast I listen to regularly. Dragon Page cover to cover. They regularly interview authors and in a recent episode #441 they interviewed our own Mercedes Lackey. For those of you who aren't familiar with her then first of all shame on you. But second of all she is a very prolific and skilled fantasy author. She is also a regular player of this game and a guest author for one of the Mission Architect arcs.
In the interview she spends about the first quarter of it talking about her new fantasy book that is coming out but then she gets really excited and starts to talk about her CoH group and their podcast.
Once again if you aren't familiar with it Mercedes joined a rp group long ago. As they got to know each other better she recruited the best and brightest of the group and began a podcast based on their heroes. They did it the right way too. They completely stripped out any resemblance to their city of heroes characters and just started writing about a world with superheroes.
Well now it seems that the podcast (which is going to continue) is also going to be released as a series of books. So when The Secret World Chronicles come out in book form you'll have the opportunity to support several of our own players.
Until then you can find the interview at Dragon Page episode 441 of the podcast. And you can also listen to the entire 4 years worth of the Secret World Chronicle Podcast
And I myself would just like to say Congratulations to Misty and the others. It's always great to see another source of superhero fiction coming from people who truly love the genre.
