I was also doing a dm/fire but again I got to the early teens and dm done it twice as you can see in my sig so i needed some other project so i abandoned that one too. In the early levels i preferred the fire/da personally
Advantages of dm/fire burn, siphon + Healing flames is nice, Fire damage aura does more damage than dark damage aura and fiery embrace is going to be nice i am sure. Soul drain to go with burn
Things I like about dark better easier to softcap s/l damage, cof or OG, fsc sword + damage aura equals sweet; heal IO out right can get 700+ hp per mob,
Both sets work it is a matter of what you prefer

DM/FA could be ridiculous - two heals, two endurance drains, two +damage powers. Geez.
I'd probably do it as a Brute, but yeah. Crazy.

Brutes have a higher Resistance cap, 90%. With being FA you will get Fire up to the cap.
The two heals will be better because Brutes have higher Hit points.

BrokenPrey's got it right. I also think it would be fun to have both Dark Consumption and Consume on a Brute, since you don't want to slow down any more than you have to. I haven't really played any of my Brutes since the change to Fury, but I imagine that never needing to stop would still be a good thing!

I have a DM/FA that I took to 50 before Stamina became inherent, with no Stamina - relying on the two enddrains.
It's squishy. It's also a fluffy, fiery ball of doomy doom. Seriously fun.
