So I was rolling my latest experiment as a tanker, and was having a good time with mobs swarming around me when it occurred t me that He wasn't really suited to soaking up damage like a sponge and plodding ahead like a tank. He was suited to a lithe and agile form of combat. Luckily his exact same powers were available as a scrapper, and he was low level enough to not feel Like I was wasting my time so I re-rolled him and have been loving it.
My question to you, the player is this. When designing character concepts do you put more weight into the playstyle and power of the AT or do you focus more on getting the power sets you want.
Nowadays every power is designed to be able to fit every AT it applies to but previously this wasn't so and quite a few "Staple" powersets and combinations are locked forever(As far as we know) to certain ATs, You're probably never going to get to make that Fire or Ice melee stalker you wanted.
With New customization options you CAN make a Martial Arts Stalker with X Fire-looking aura(there's at least three I can name off the top of my head) set to combat on the fists and BLAMMO! you got yourself some fire melee, heck, you've got fire melee that's more subtle, with flashier animations to boot.
Another way to frame this question:
If forced to pick between the AT you think fits your character, and the powers you want them to have, which do you choose?
Anyone Who wants to argue about my usual foolishness can find me here. https://twitter.com/Premmytwit
I'll miss you all.
