unable to launch game?

So I just finished downloading COH, and logged in with my trial account. I create a character, and venture into the world, but before I do anything I change my settings, screen resolution etc etc, and quit the game to make them apply. But when I open the cohupdater.exe again, it asks me to choose an install folder, and I choose the folder where I installed the game "D:\City Of Heroes" and it says "you may be out of disk space" or bla bla bla, but I already know I have plenty of disk space, so I suppose it won't overwrite.

So my problem is; the game won't open! It tries to install again! Why? What can I do to fix this? Do I have to re-install it to "c:\program files"? 'Cause I don't really see myself doing that, as I use D:\ for games...
