Game crashing

Basically the screen turns black and then the game's sounds start to loop and I cant play it anymore, making me have to shut down my computer to get out of it. I think I pretty much tried almost every solution I could find on the forums, none working. So I guess I had no choice but to post here. Here are my specs (I hope I did this right).

EDIT: whoops I forgot to put the Hijack This specs too, they're in the next post.

Does it crash in safe mode?

Are you running on 197.45 drivers? Those seem to be the more stable drivers.

Stable is a rather relative term here.

Oh look...another CoH Crashes thread...must be an isolated incident

I haven't tried safe mode yet but what does safe mode do exactly and will it alter game performance? I could try it safe mode just to test it at least. And the 197.45 drivers I have no idea what those are, should I use it and if so how?

I'm not recommending this. I'm using them now. I haven't crashed but it creates a host of new problems. Game looks like crap, frame rates went down the toilet, and contact windows make you suspect someone slipped acid in your coffee...but hey, you can DL it here.

Yeah. Tell me about it.

I have 2 systems and access to a 3rd.

I have an ATI 5770 in 1 system, Nvidia GTX 260 in the other and an ATI 5750 in a system I can play CoH on if I have to.

I do have a laptop with intel graphics (the most sold "graphics card" in it) but no way in heck would I play the game on it. However, its good enough to play the market in the trading house free of powers spam.

Hmm, if it's true of what you said then I might have to consider those drivers as a last resort option (I don't like my graphics getting messed with). So I guess the only thing to do so far is run it in safe mode? I'd still like to know what safe mode does though.

EDIT: okay never mind, I'll just download the drivers. Is there a 32 bit version of the drivers though? The 64 bit version doesn't work on my pc.

Yes, there are 32 bit nvidia drivers.
