Build challenge
Looked through and I just can't seem to find two builds that I would want to use. Yes, two. One for my SoA/Bane and one for my SoA/Crab friend. You see, we both play them together and I am trying to find a build for both versions that can support each other without too much overlap.
So anyone up for the challenge of two builds that complement each other when played together that is i19 friendly? Thanks! |
Here's my entry to the challenge:
1) Make a Bane
2) Make a Crab
3) Both take TT:M (Take all the TT: powers actually)
4) Team up
Global = Hedgefund (or some derivation thereof)

Both take TT:Manouvers and Leadership Manouvers, and slot them fully for defence and some endurance redux. You've now got 42% defence or so, enough for any occasion.
The Bane will be soft-capped with Mask Presence, even when its suppressed.
Both take TT:Assualt and Leadership Assault for +60% damage at all times. Slot one or two end redux in each.
Both take TT:Leadership for more To Hit and perception bonuses than you'll almost ever need. Slot for end redux first, then a bit of To Hit buff.
Then just grab as many AoEs as possible and go to town. Suppression, Venom Grenade and Frag Grenade for the Crab.
I'd take Heavy Burst, Venom Grenade and Frag for the Bane (making them a bit Huntsman) but I don't know if you'd like that or not.
For anyone who wants to take up your challenge, do you want IOs or SOs? Any price limits?
Assuming your Bane likes melee and your crab likes ranged damage? If so, it might be good to build your Ban to withstand a lot of punishment (IE, softcap defenses with IO bonuses and/or Alpha slotting). The Crab will be able to handle himself also, but being at range you won't be able to take advantage of it as much. I've been working on a Tanker build for my Crab... something to substitute for tanks/brutes in case a team needs it. So far my build has soft cap defenses and an average of 45% resists all around. Crabs really are tough suckers. You may want to consider that here if you are looking to take on large groups. Your crab can take the AoE taunt from the power pool and act as a tank. If you do, it would be a good idea to take some melee powers too.... so you don't accidentally agro a nearby group (I got my eye on you, Suppression).
Anyway... no matter what your group build, you'll want to take the key powers mentioned in the other posts as well as all pets you can possibly manage. Why? Why not? As a soldier you will have a few open power spots (especially in I19 when Fitness goes inherent) and they'll help you kill that much quicker.
I did look through a few of the builds around but if you bring up one I won't shoot you down. Not that mean. ^.^
As for the roles they will play, the Crab will be more the tank while the Bane will support. Though if needed, the Bane should be able to take the hits too. Right now, we are leveling them up together and with leveling pact to see how they work and know our powers at the same time. They are already pretty deadly without a set build and us mostly going 'Hmmm...this looks good.' thought process. >P
Right now, we will work on getting all the TT: powers and the pets as well. There will be no price limit since we can get everything we need either with them or through our alts. And we will go with IOs.
