Venu Sovereignty is hosting a redside Cathedral of Pain trial every Monday and Thursday at 9pm est. You must be either a villain or rogue to get into the base, so we won't be able to take any heroes or vigilantes. Please bring your best level 50 toons. We need 2 per team of some combination of sonic, cold or bubblers (i.e. 2 cold, or 1 sonic and 1 bubbler, etc...). All ATs are welcome but 2 spots on each team will be on hold for those. Please have Shivans and HVACs before we go. We will meet up in RWZ to take advantage of the close hospital, insp. collectors and HVAC vendor. Team leaders will be announced the night of.
Here's our strategy:
Phase 1 Obelisks - The obelisks need to all be killed at the same time or they will respawn. Each of the 3 teams will be assigned to an obelisk. Kill the mobs nearby to lower the shields. Take your assigned obelisk down to 15% hp and hold them there until I call out to kill them. If done correctly it will only take 2 rounds. DO NOT KILL THE OBELISKS UNTIL I CALL IT OUT.
Phase 2 The Cathedral: After the obelisks are down we will be able to enter The Cathedral. When we enter buff your teams. Kill the first wave of mobs. Move to the center and stay there for the remainder of the trial. Drop shivans and HVACs. Attack the AV until the mobs respawn. Kill the mobs to lower the shields on the AV. Rinse and repeat until the AV is dead. IMPORTANT: EACH TIME THE AV LOWERS HIS SHIELDS YOU WILL HAVE ONE MINUTE TO POUND ON HIM. AFTER THAT, THE MOBS WILL RESPAWN AND HIS SHIELD WILL GO BACK UP. HIS SHIELD CAN NOT BE PENETRATED. HE HAS A NASTY REGENERATION RATE. MAKE SURE YOU KILL THE MOBS QUICKLY EACH TIME THEY RESPAWN AND GO BACK TO THE AV WHEN HIS SHIELDS ARE DOWN. STAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM.
Once we complete the trial you will be given the option to choose between either an awesome temporary power (random) that is always on for 7 days or 25 merits. There are 2 badges for the trial. The first one is for completing it successfully the second is for choosing the temporary power.
