Looking for a Kat/DA build

And Werner, I'm looking in your general direction. ;-) This would be used for both PvE and PvP.

I don't PvP, and I suspect you shouldn't go anywhere near PvP with a Katana/Dark, and particularly not with one optimized for PvE. Even if it doesn't suck as bad as I suspect, it would still take a completely different build approach than PvE.

This isn't the build I'm running. This is my aborted attempt to fix my defense and endurance problems after the various IO nerfs. At this point, I'm taking a wait and see attitude, and hoping that I19 will let me fix everything without gutting my DPS. I want the purple set plus Achilles' Heel in Gambler's Cut like I have on my current build. I don't plan on fiddling with it until I19 actually hits, though, since I don't trust that the rules won't change before then.

Edit: The main strength is that it's seriously survivable outside of defense debuffs, and the double-stack of Divine Avalanche has you high enough to mostly handle the weakest debuffs, plus you can stack it further as necessary to at least have some response. Still, heavy defense debuffs suck on this build. The main weakness is that damage output is quite mediocre, with DPS probably around 140-150 (I haven't calculated it or endurance for the below build), and just a single AoE. Think of it more as a DPS tank with no aggro control, and you're probably in the right ballpark. Or just build a DPS tank - I just have a soft spot for Scrappers. And if you DO take the build below with no modification, be aware that I haven't calculated endurance consumption. I suspect it's sustainable or close, but if you're planning some no temps no insps AV soloing, you want to KNOW that it's sustainable.

Kat/Dark and BS/Dark will both be horrible in PvP, though you can get some very good performance out of them in PvE.

Why DA sucks in PvP:

-Your heal requires targets in melee range to function, no PvPer that has ANY clue what they are doing is going to stand there and let you heal off them.
-Two of the things that make DA nice, Oppressive Gloom and Cloak of Fear, will be shut off by any mez that gets through. And since every mez that hits will affect you, a split-second stun will shut them down. Death Shroud too.
-You lack any inherent KB protection. This is a problem, because, while you can get good amounts of KB protection from IOs and Acrobatics, you don't have the benefit of the 10,000% KB resistance that inherent KB protection grants you. That resistance reduces teh amount of KB that actually affects you, meaning you get more out of any KB protection you may have. If you fight a Psi blaster, Mind dom, or Energy blaster/dom, you're going to be bouncing around like a superball because you won't have enough KB protection to prevent it.
-Dark Armor's resistances are a little lower than some other sets to make up for the fact that it has a lot of tricks up it's sleeve.

Your choice of primary will do okay in PvP, but DA is the LAST secondary you want to take into a zone (I speak from experience here, I'm an average PvPer and my BS/DA AV soloing build got DESTROYED in short order in PvP)

Well, I can share my current build, but the whole point is that I18 wrecked it. As it is now, it isn't soft-capped and isn't endurance sustainable.

Hmmm, the Performance Shifter proc is worth more than a common endmod IO in Physical Perfection. Kinda need the Kismet for +4s. Could sacrifice a Stamina slot, but that has a significant effect. Could give up on the hit point bonus. Hmmm.

Well, tell you what - I'll need to fiddle and do some calculations, but it's probably a better starting point for the fiddling than what I posted, and makes me think that for sure I19 will solve the problems if this doesn't. Thanks!

Wait till i19...
pick up Hover and move the BotZ set from CJ leaving the base slot and the Kismet on CJ, pick up Fly and stick in a KB IO....
