Better for PvE: EM or KM
Uh... Stalker KM has no KB, just KD. No obnoxiousness required unless you're beating on blue-conning minions. And Concentrated Strike is also an extreme damage attack, although it won't crit from Hide.
So, overally, I'd say KM. It's a lot faster than EM, even if it doesn't look it, and like you mentioned, it has an AoE, a ranged attack, and -dmg in all its attacks, instead of a chance to run away.
Km >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> em.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
it has gone from unconscionable to downright appalling that we have no way of measuring our characters' wetness.

I knew they both had extreme damage attacks; but the additional one in ET is the selling point for EM.
And I was considering an "AV Killer" type build, so the extra damage was attractive. (But so is AoE/range/Speed)
But it seems as though KM is getting all the votes...
Thanks for the replies; appreciated.
KM is loads faster. It may not feel faster, but it is. Just string attacks together and you'll see.
My guides:Dark Melee/Dark Armor/Soul Mastery, Illusion Control/Kinetics/Primal Forces Mastery, Electric Armor
"Dark Armor is a complete waste as a tanking set."

KM does a touch less single-target damage than EM, but generally has faster animations, can stack a little -dam to help your secondary with mitigation, and Burst at least provides some AoE for the rest of the fights you'll run into in PvE - and while it's still "bugged" with a 100% critical rate from hide, it's a nice way to thin out a herd. It's a better all-around set with a similar damage split, and EM's only strength is of mild use at best on an AT where every primary already gets high single-target burst.

I'll also add KM's PBAE, when slotted, used from hide, and with build up, can drop most even con minions( with an extra red or so for higher con minions), makes those instances where you have to defeat all, much less of a pain.
I am about to start a new stalker and wanted to get some opinions from people who may have played both, first.
Which is the better PvE set in your opinion (and why, please): EM or KM?
I am torn between KM's range and AoE; and EM's extra extreme damage attack, stuns, and lack of obnoxious KB.
Any help is appreciated.
