DM/SR build help
Is this a PvE build? If it is for PvP, ignore my comments as I know nothing about PvP builds.
Siphon Life could be slotted a lot better. Do you really have the Pancea proc? If you do, you can definitely afford hami-O's in it. Search the Scrapper forums for threads about Siphon Life slotting.
I'm not sure if you planned on using Shadow Maul. It looks like you have enough recharge to do the highest possible DPS chain for dark, which is MG>SM>SL>SM.
Ball Lightning would be better than Static Discharge if you're looking for AoE damage.
Anyway, biggest thing im worried about i guess is end and since i like to run ITFs a lot will only having a little over 45% def be enough? |
Same for your net recovery ... it should be fine and Dark Consumption will be gravy in the mix, (or vice versa) for general pve missions and task forces.
You would almost have to go looking to build a team for missions and task forces that won't provide a smidge more defense or +recovery somehow among your teammates and what you have is plenty using inspires even if you were solo.
Slot Siphon Life and Dark Consumption to hurt stuff first and their other effects second. I'd do the same to Soul Drain but without reworking the build doing so would lose the +def for the set bonus in GSFC (and drop you below 45% mark for defense).
---> The potentially very serious drawback to GSFC in Soul Drain is SD has to hit to grant you its buffs and the set has no accuracy in it. If you aren't pretty much putting the entire build together at once and without significant +accuracy (globally) you find you'll be firing SD and seeing a utter sea of "Missed" going up. This will be doubly true if you're standing in the midst of densely packed Cimerorans. Ideally I'd rework the build to keep the soft cap without using a To Hit set in Soul Drain but rather a PBAoE set such as Obliterate.
Reduce Hasten to 3 slots. Many better and more effective ways of getting Hasten Perma that also benefit the builds overall recharge as well.
I'd second the suggestion to swap into Ball Lightning over Static Discharge. It will work at range just as well for aoe, has a higher target cap, does more damage and work when you're standing in the middle of them much better than Static Discharges cone.
Here's your build, very rapidly tweaked, making some set changes (and moving one slot out of Hasten to Evasion) incorporating some of the above suggestions:

Having 45% defense should be enough for ITF, yes. Keep in mind that Super Reflexes has a lot of -defense mitigation in it to help prevent cascade failure.
I'll have to look more closely at your Siphon Life slotting, it might be better than mine (I went with 4 Touch of the Nictus and 2 level 50 damage IOs), but even then, I think there's better possibilities out there.
Do you really use Shadow Maul as a brute? The low DPA and long animation were a huge turnoff for me, it never really fit into my playstyle, especially as a brute, where fast attacks are the name of the game.
If you're like me and want to keep Siphon Life as more of a utility power than a main attack, Shadow Punch has almost the exact same DPA. Additionally, since I picked Ghost Widow as my patron, Gloom is a beastly single target attack with a much higher DPA than anything Dark has to offer (And Dark Obliteration isn't bad either). It's a DoT, so mileage my vary on lieutenants and minions, but on anything boss level or higher, it pays dividends.
Does Hasten really need 4 slots? 3 should be enough to cap recharge on it.
In any event, nitpicking power choices aside, it's DM/SR, it is what it is. If you're defense soft capped (Which you are), it's really hard to go wrong. This is a ridiculously expensive build you're going for, but if you can afford it, it'll be powerful, no question.
One thing you can do if you want to avoid having that 6 slotted Red Fortune set is get 6-slotted Mako's Bite, which I have in Smite, and I have my 6 slotted Touch of Death in Shadow Punch. But again, your power choice may mean that isn't a possibility for you.
I can post my build if you like, it certainly isn't perfect either, but I managed to reach soft cap by using Scirocco's Dervish in Soul Drain instead of Gaussian's. The to-hit buff in Soul Drain really doesn't need to be enhanced, and with a 6th slot used for a recharge IO, Soul Drain actually becomes a decent AoE attack in addition to being a fantastic buff power on its own. I used more slots on Weave and Combat Jumping to make up the difference in defense, but it works just fine.

I cant believe i didnt notice that it had Static Discharge and not ball lighting, but yeah... i would be getting ball.
I thank you all for the help and also the build Doom.

You shouldn't have any need to get Perma Hasten. Once you have enough recharge to run the optimal DM attack chain, you really don't need any more, since SR doesn't have any long recharging powers you want back faster. With the possible exception of Elude, but if you're already softcapped you won't be needing Elude.
Personally, I would try to get there with just global recharge, and drop Hasten altogether. (since it has an endurance crash when it wears off)

I've been lvling up a DM/SR and this is the build I've put together. Not really sure it will be any good, tried to mainly shoot for soft cap and perma hasten (two things im not too great at). Anyway, biggest thing im worried about i guess is end and since i like to run ITFs a lot will only having a little over 45% def be enough?
Thanks in advance.
Edit: that panacea proc in siphon life is supposed to be doc wounds heal/end/rech
