The change to Energize happened after the set had been out a long time. Issue 14 maybe? Few guides have been written since.
And yes, you might end up with a lot of extra power picks you don't know what to do with. I don't have a travel power, relying on Sprint+Swift+Lightning Reflexes+Ninja Run for my run speed. It's almost like Super Speed. Hasten, Fitness, Fighting. That's it. If you find you need a couple one-slot-wonders, I recommend the stealth pool for Luck of the Gambler +Rech globals. Assuming you can afford them.

Electric Armor really doesn't have any endurance difficulties at all, once you get Power Sink and decent recharge going. No need for the Energy APP.

Well I started a Claw/Dark brute last week and have to say he is a hell of a lot of fun and just seem to be getting better and better each lv. If you fancy somthing a little less cookie cutter try it for a giggle.
For WP I have a lv 50 Axe/WP brute who is great and can solo and farm with no probes and my Main is an SS/Invin which is a beast and can smash solo and tank for teams as needed. Anyhow all in all brute are just great fun pick some sets you fancy and just run with it.
K should i be reworking my build for IOs to get atleast 20% or so melee def.
ill be reposting a build tonight for IOs(trying to go cheap so nothing special. so no purples, no high end sets or highly used ones... thow not sure about them. been practicing my market-fu and manged to go from 200k(large insper sold) to 54 mil last night so i should hopfully be able ot fund a cheap build)
