Soloing all content, with TF. etc, in groups, on EZmode -1X1
Can't put TF's on -1 anymore, and I'm going to say no, you won't be able to solo all of them (although I have no experience with the top end builds made for soloing soloing AVs, GMs, etc). My guess is even with a top end build you'll at least need a partner for a good number of things, and full team for some things (like the MO badges)

A MA/Regen can easily solo all "standard content." But it will need some help with some of the more challenging elements like AV soloing, you will only be able to take on some of those challenges.
MA's strength is taking down single hard targets, like Bosses, EBs, and in some cases, AVs. Multiple groups of mobs will make it harder for a MA to taken them all down even when spamming Dragon's Tail. Regen itself takes a hit from large groups as well, particularly when the debuffs come in. Regen has no native protection from or resistance to debuffs, so you are more likely to get hit with a debuff than most other sets. Also, MA is smashing damage, which might be slightly less resisted than lethal damage overall in the game, against enemies like AVs, you won't be able to damage them significantly without external buffs. I tried this on Marauder a few times, and even with an Envenomed Dagger and a Shivan/Heavy Core, and his smashing resist were too high to overcome his AV regen. Sword sets can usually overcome lethal-resistance AVs by using the Achilles' Heel Proc of something in its secondary.
That said, a MA/Regen can still do some impressive things, like accomplishing the RWZ Challenge, soloing Rikti Pylons, and soloing (non smashing-resistance) AVs.
Actually it's impossible for any on person to Solo everything, as there are TFs that NEED 4 people(I'm thinking of you, Docter Q.).

I understand that in I18 they changed MA for the cities. What were the changes? Can a MA/Regen Scrapper solo all content? (Money is absolutely not an issue, - so are there any procs I gotta grab ASAP?) Any MA players advice is welcome, from complete build advice right down to costume. Including "dude, be wise, don't kill yourself, take the meatshield and move on" |
Then yeah, MA/regen will be just fine. You'll have no problems soloing every "normaly" soloable things and most TFs are easy anyway.
You might have a hard time getting in Mo attempts (people always want support or an insane tanker) but that would happen with all scrappers. Another thing is you will need help for GMs and a decent team for top end TFs, while one of the OP support character means you can pretty much win with crappy players. On the other hand, support characters are a lot harder to solo, and are really insane only with top builds.
One little warning, i doubt you'll get all the badges in one year. Even not counting the ones you can't get (aniversary and vets) there's only a very small number of people that have them all and they've been at it since CoX was out, more or less. But worry about 100 first, then 200, 300, etc. =P Eventually your badge list will make you lag.
