Was just wondering how safe fire/fire was
Safety is for Mind/ and Plant/. Fire is riskier, doesn't handle adds as well, but does a ton of damage.
You don't really need Smoke or Bonfire, Ring of Fire is skippable until the late game when you have regular encounters with AVs.
My personal experience of Fire Control is that it really likes a bit of soft control in the secondary (/Earth, /Ice or /Energy). Still, /Fire probably has the damage to comfortably drop things during Flashfire's stun, so you should be safe enough at the end of the stun - two things Charred, one a charred corpse.
Not as safe as mind/fire, but the kill speed is significantly faster. Significantly.

You don't really need Smoke or Bonfire...
The former conclusion is likely based on the latter belief.
Let me make it known that on both my Fire controller and my Fire dominator, I have skipped both Smoke and Bonfire. But Smoke prevents adds unbelievably well, IME, and Bonfire is very useful vs. ambushes or adds (I may skip them, but I know and play with others who have not). I don't mind playing it riskier, but it is not due to a lack of good stuff in the set, it's just a lack of me taking that good stuff.
Why Blasters? Empathy Sucks.
So, you want to be Mental?
What the hell? Let's buff defenders.
Tactics are for those who do not have a big enough hammer. Wisdom is knowing how big your hammer is.
Smoke prevents adds in some circumstances. It does not deal with adds.
Hello all, Pretty new to dom. Been playing a mind/fire and I have to say pretty safe solo. Then I thought I try a fire/fire came up with a theme I wanted to try. Was wandering how safe is a f/f solo and in teams and what powers from the first line are skipable. Thx for any info , have a great day.
