/NRG Entropy Shield Question

Well I was happily levelling along my /NRG brute in praetoria this morning when I realised that Entropy shield has a bizarre list of allowed Enhancements:

Endurance Reduction
Recharge Time

Now the thing that is strange about this to me is that Entropy Shield is a toggle, so why would I want to put Recharge enhancements into it? The power gives you status resistance so is there a reason that I can't put Resist enhancements into it specifically?

Just a bit confusing, anyone care to enlighten me?

Also, are there any more of these bizarre slotting choices in NRG that I have yet to find out?

Endurance Reduction to reduce the end/sec of the Toggle. Recharge to allow it to come back up faster should you detoggle. All toggles are like this. And you can't boost the resistance of status effect resistance toggles. Never have been. See Wet Ice in Ice Armor.

My guides:Dark Melee/Dark Armor/Soul Mastery, Illusion Control/Kinetics/Primal Forces Mastery, Electric Armor
"Dark Armor is a complete waste as a tanking set."

I can understand why you'd have endurance reduction, but I didn't know why you would have recharge reduction.. I spose that makes sense. So is the best way to slot this power 1 end red or what then?

It used to be that toggle powers would toggle off when you got held or stunned or whatever. Yes, it would occasionally happen through the mez protection toggle.

That toggle, and many others, have a long recharge that is very bad if you have to deal with it in combat.

Recharge time is there so the toggle has less downtime if it goes off, like if you accidentally turn it off.

It may seem useless now, but it used to be more important. Having it toggle off or suppress was and is still avoidable though by keeping away from a big group of mezzers who can overwhelm your protection. Such groups are so very rare though that you shouldn't worry.

Yes, my energy aura brute never put another slot in it. It would be more useful elsewhere and, at level 50, one endurance reduction will be more than enough.
