Heh. I very much want my dominators to play like a blaster. My Mind/Fire and my Fire/Earth are designed primarily as damage output, with some extra control, if I need it. I will frequently forgo the control if I can get away with just using my pure damage powers.

I love that dominators allow for such a breadth of playstyles.

Why Blasters? Empathy Sucks.
So, you want to be Mental?
What the hell? Let's buff defenders.

I know, I read it in your OP. I mentioned it as an aside to illustrate that there's something about this combo that works really, really well.

Mass Hypnosis has really good utility. When solo, I open with it. It shuts down everything and allows me to BBQ everyone at a leisurely pace. When I'm in trouble, I hit it and GTFO. You don't have to put 6 slots on it, but a couple ACC's(and maybe a Sleep Duration) would be in order.

As a GTFO, I get it, but I don't need to slot it up for that.

However, to BBQ things at my leisure - my BBQ tools will be AoEs: Fireball, Firebreath, RoF - therefor Sleep would not seem ot be the best method for locking them down while I AoE flambeau them, right?

Mid/Fire Dom and killing things leisurely seem like antitheses. You have too much killing power to bother taking your time, IMO.

That's a better way of saying what I was trying to say.

Basically, with all the damage flying around, I can't imagine an AoE Sleep power to have a lot of general utility - although I am happy to concede it may have a more narrow range of effective uses, like the LRSF or as a 'oh crap" power.

However, even as an "oh crap" power it occurs to me that what could happen often to me is trying to trigger Mass Hypnosis, but everyone wakes right back up due to the DoT on all my fire attacks. So possibly even *more* limited usefulness there.

For what it's worth I am now 36 and got to play in an awesome team last night - had permadom throughout most of the mishes with some help from an SB, a preview of things to come, and found it legendary. Terrify is a wonderful power can't believe I almost skipped it. Was firing Terrify and then either Mass Confusion or Total Domination, depending on which was up.

Good times.

Now my next three powers I will be getting are Blaze, Fireball, and Rain of Fire, and my next several slots add even more global recharge and damage. So this is the point at which things really begin to take off. Woot!
