Graphic Card Trouble (Help)

I just came back to CoH after having so much trouble keeping Graphic Cards, meaning I get a blue screen that tells me I'm having problems and memory is being dump to help solve the problem and if I see it again, I need to remove programs or recent updates. Then my monitor quits working because my graphic card is dead..

I can play Guild Wars with no trouble but, CoH... I have lost 3 graphic cards in the past so, now I'm back and lost another one already and now I'm about to lose this one I just bought last week... this would be number 5. I have no clue what is going on.

I have a GT5404 Gateway with a NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT and Antec 430 watt...
I have my ingame settings on recommended, no advance...
And I do have my system cleaned ever four months... all upgrades and cleaning done at Best Buy... is there anything I'm doing or something I can do, to stop this from happening ever again?

You will get much better answers up in the Tech Forums above this - this forum is really more about "how do I get a cape?".

First as je saist said make sure your drivers are updated. A few drivers back there was one which was causing problems with overheating. It was the 196.75 version of the drivers.

But if you've lost multiple video cards I can almost bet you have a bad power supply. You really should have a higher wattage one. Also the Antec 430 True Power have been known to have unstable voltages. The reason that CoH exclusively would cause this problem is that it is much harder on your CPU and GPU. As a result when playing it their temperatures climb. When that happens the fan speeds ramp up and draw more power. Which could push the power supply into the unstable range.

Or it could just be that something is screwed up in your system so that no power is getting to the GPU fan. Most video cards can run a lot of games without hitting their temperature limits even without the fan operating but in a game that stresses the card the fan absolutely has to be operating or you will burn out the card.

What it all comes down to is I strongly suggest that you replace your power supply no matter what. But definitely check those drivers.
