What Def do you focus on for Claw/Elec

Ok,

So thinkin of my next brute build. For Claw/Elec do you focus on positional defenses or the others (no I cant think now)?

S/L. It covers about 98% of the attacks in the game. even 30% S/L def with your resists would make things a pushover.

Anyoen got a guide for claws for brutes...none under guide section. But I guess /elec has changed a ton since I last looked at it too....

Ill play with mids

aye, play with mids. start by 4 slotting your attacks and use kinetic combats in them. expensive (unless you use A-merits) but well worth it.

Claws functions pretty much the exact same for Brutes as Scrappers. You can take a look at their guides for info. What I usually do is take everything except the 2nd attack, Taunt, and Eviscerate.

Do I really need to soft cap S/L? Im having issues tryin to get it high enough. Still playing around with Mids and working on the character concept I want to.

Soft capping S/L is very popular and works really well, but it is not absolutely needed. I have a EM/Elec without any defense at all and I still run at +1/x8 just fine. I went for massive amounts of recharge and use endurance drain as mitigation. If they don't have any endurance they don't attack as much. One of the great things about this game is the ability to build the way you like and still be affective.

Even 30% def to S/L on a resist based secondary will make a massive difference.

So does that build I posted look ok?

Have a new idea/theme im working on costume now....is Energy any good? Easy to cap all defense....except a couple. But I think id rather have /Elec. Just threw that in cause /Energy looked neat
