Character names in playback?

Refresh my memory, is there a way to have player names show up during demo playback?

Yes there is... I don't remember the command... but there is.

Hides all text effects (player chat, floating damage/healing text, etc.). This also hides the console.

If you are using a demolauncher, there is probably an option that issues this command when you launch. Just need to remove the command.
