Nope, they're pretty much always there. 
There are actually a lot of red names that hang around and read the forums--some are just more talkative than others.

Well I'm just noticing the Active Users list that shows up at the bottom of the Forums page when you first get there...
Just wondering if it's pretty standard to see the likes of BaBs, War Witch, Posi, etc. online - or if there's something special going on somewhere (in the Forums) right now, that I should get in on.
