need some PC help PLZ

hello, im a almost 6 year vet COH/COV, my computer is able to handle coh and cov no prob, but with the new Praetoria zone its impossible to play. im looking for some advice on a good gaming computer that would be able to run GR with ease.. can someone who knows about computers and grafix cards please give me some suggestions on a setup that would let me play my favorite game for another 6 years? i have about a 1000$ to spend if needed for the new tower.

Well, with $1k to play with you can get a pretty decent system; are you comfortable rolling your own or do you want a prebuilt?

In either case one of the keys is the video card... from what I've seen the ATI 5770 seems to offer about the best price/performance at roughly $150 so that should be your starting point; the Nvidia 460 seems to be the best choice at around $200.

For the CPU any current quad core processor will work nicely; Intel is a touch more expensive but offers a bit more performance. AMD is perfectly capable of running COH at high settings and is a bit cheaper.

You'll want Windows 7 64bit for the operating system... on a prebuilt this would be a given.

For RAM you want a minimum of 4GB; I believe COH will only use 2GB of it so the rest is available for the OS and any other programs you're running.

Other than that the rest of the machine is up to you; a decent 7,200RPM hard drive (I'm partial to Western Digital) and most any DVD RW burner drive will work fine... DVD recorders are only around $25 and they all pretty much work fine.

In any case the minimum specs I'd want would be:
Video - ATI 5770 or faster
CPU - Intel i5 or AMD Phenom II quad core processor
RAM - 4 GB minimum
Hard Drive - 7,200RPM; if I were building it I'd get a Western Digital with 32MB cache.
Optical drive - take your pick of any DVD recorder, there's not a lot of difference in my experience.
Power Supply - 650 watt or higher, name brand unit.
Windows 7 64bit operating system

I'm sure some of our more tech savvy people can give you a more specific shopping list.
