Force Field + Kinetics works really well, Ive done that.
Kinetics love defence and mez protection, so Traps should be a good match too, and a bit more aggressive than FF, ie faster defeats less safety.
FFG + double Manouvers, all slotted is 32% defence, equal to SO-slotted Super Reflexes. Combined with the big heal and your other mitigation from Traps, you'll be plenty safe enough.

I'd go Web Grenade if you dont have any other holds or immobs. Being able to nominate one enemy as the healing/buffing post and stop them moving is a big bonus to a Kin. With Dp (which has a hold) I'd maybe go 'trops instead.
Well, DP has a Stun, which is more or less a hold but yea what "The Dr" says is true, being able to hold a foe so that the heal won't get out of range is a good idea, and since your final power in DP is a PBAoE you'll be in range.
I too like the idea of a Traps/Kin duo, mind you, the Kin will need to take Hasten/SS to keep up (unless your going to be able to hit Siphon Speed all the time) and you might wanna consider the Medicine pool, with my duo's if I don't have a "100% heal" (like Emp or Rad) then I'll use that as a backup, also, your team won't have any sleep protection outside of IO's, so you'll want to get some.
The Tier 9 power for Traps is Skipable IMHO, I wouldn't skip anything from DP, I rather like executioners shot myself, yes it's a snipe so it's the one you could, but it looks great.

I had this idea for making a duo with these two types of Defenders, now I know that DP is supposed to be a little low on the damage side but I figure with Acid Mortar and -Res ammo damage should be pretty good (add FS later on and Siphon early), DEF wise should also be good with FFG and 2x Manouvers.
Anyone have any thoughts on this team, I've done the dual Emp thing and I wanna try something different.
Also, checking the build I dunno if I have room for BOTH Caltrops and Webgrenade, I'm leaning towards the trops?
