Is Ice/Dark viable?

I second this. It's amazing how little you actually get attacked when all the enemies are quaking in fear, encased in ice, or trying desperately to escape your tar patch/ice storm.

Regarding some of the OPs other questions, I never felt the need for Hasten, but of course, ymmv.

I skipped Petrifying Gaze, so just have the two ice holds and Fearsome Stare, which seems to be plenty, especially after you get Dark Servant. Bitter Freeze Ray does have a really long cast time, so I could see an argument that it would be more efficient to take something else, but I like the ability to stack it with Freeze Ray on hard targets. Personal Quirk maybe, but I just find it gratifying to see that boss encased in ice throughout the fight.

For other pools, I like Assault and Tactics on her, and love Power Sink and Charged Armor from the Mu Mastery pool.

Wow! What a great forum. Very very helpful. Malifaux, my new ice/dark is up and running. Been sick so i haven't been able to play him as much as I would like but that's improving so I plan on running him like mad. O.O Hers a tentative build - havent decided for sure yet on epic powers tho - just some ideas. Leadership is nice - helps dmg acc etc. Any of the PPP are nice except for Mace IMHO tho I could take scorpion and still get assault and tactics. Thoughts?

Ok maybe this one is better. Took DK at lvl 6 and am very glad I did. Moving HT out to 30 makes much stronger at early levels dont you think?
