Can't access account page or NSOFT page
I'm having no problems accessing the NCSoft site, My account pages or the Store site.
What country are you in?
What Operating System are you using? (will help if needing to give instructions).
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

I'm in the same boat as OP. https://secure.ncsoft.com is redirecting to https://secure.gtm.ncsoft.com/ and returning an error. This is not an OS problem, or a ISP problem: the tracert suceeds until it leaves my ISP, then dies.

Thanks to @EnsonsDeath for the GVE code that made me VIP again!
Start at plaync.com and then access the account/store/whatever from there. ncsoft.com is passing the wrong credentials and doing weird crap.

Hmm, weird. I can't access the account/store from ncsoft.com but I can from plaync.com.

Have you tried flushing the DNS cache Leandro? It may be holding some bad data. It looks like something may be holding a bad route at the hop after it leaves the telefonica network.
Of course, if the latter is the case you'll have to wait until it's fixed at that hop.

Okay, so I just heard back from NCsoft support:
Hi Leandro, Thank you for contacting NCsoft Technical Support. Please try clearing your DNS cache. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the R key. This should bring up the "Run" dialogue box. 2. In that box, type "cmd" without the quotes, and click the "OK" button. A DOS window should open. 3. Enter the following command below and press enter: ipconfig /flushdns This should clear your DNS cache. You may need to perform this command a few times. If the issue persists your ISP may be providing old DNS information. Some ISPs take longer to update this information. You could also try using a 3rd party DNS service like those available at http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/ or http://www.opendns.com/start/ . NCsoft does not support these services, but there is information on configuring them at those sites. Please let us know if this suggestion does not solve your problem. |
Hello, >Please try clearing your DNS cache. This was the first thing I did. It didn't help. I also reset my router, and I tried with different computers. >If the issue persists your ISP may be providing old DNS >information. Some ISPs take longer to update this >information. My personal gaming computer uses Google's 8.8.8.8 DNS; the family computer uses my ISP's standard DNS; and I connected to a neighbor's wifi using my laptop with a different ISP. None of those worked. If this is a DNS problem, tell me the right IP for secure.ncsoft.com and I'll modify my hosts file to connect to it until the problem is solved. It's currently resolving to 64.25.35.201. I'm pretty sure the problem is outside my ISP, as evidenced by the traceroute I attached earlier, and also because there is another player in the forums suffering from this problem, here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showpost.php?p=3086123 Thanks for the reply, Leandro. |
So, four minutes later:
Actually, I just used my head and traced the route to secure.ncsoft.com from a web server at http://centralops.net/co/ It identified secure.ncsoft.com as 64.25.35.101 -- so I used my web browser to go to https://64.25.35.101 and it worked. I still can't access the site using its domain, but the IP works, so I'll make do. |

I added the following lines to my hosts file and now everything's fine:
64.25.35.101 secure.plaync.com
64.25.35.101 secure.gtm.ncsoft.com
www.SaveCOH.com: Calls to Action and Events Calendar

Glad you got it working Leandro.
As I read your post and saw the IP address I checked my own trace route and saw a different IP and was going to let you know what I was getting but kept reading and saw that you figured it out.
Hopefully, this information will help other players that are having similar issues.
Instead of using Google's DNS as you do I often set mine to use a Level 3 DNS of 4.2.2.1 or 4.2.2.2 and always can tell if it's a DNS issue due to that. Level 3 is one of the top-level domains and a CLEC and their DNS servers seems to be updated much more regularly than most ISP's DNS server or even Google's DNS servers. Actually, the 4.2.2.1 - 4.2.2.6 addresses are all DNS servers owned by Level 3.
You can add more than 2 DNS servers in XP and up, so I keep mine set to use my ISP's DNS servers as the Primary and Secondary then add additional DNS servers using the Advanced settings to keep 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 as my fallback DNS servers now. If the first two fail to resolve the address then usually one of the fallbacks will resolve it. If it doesn't resolve, then I know that the problem is worse and I go from there.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

As the title says!
Thanks
