Tank vs Brute damage
I'm all about apples to apples, so to be fair, the build I posted has the PvP +def IO in it. That 3% goes a long way in helping squeeze more +recharge into the build.

Don't get me wrong guys, I see the need for Tankers and I like teaming with them, I'm just not a fan of playing them (I just like killing stuff) and the ones I've played was just to play the "big man" hero side. With being able to take tons of damage and keep on going, Tanks are an important element of the game. Meat shields will always have a place in my heart!
I think a lot of people will do the same.
the number of quests/tf/avs that actually NEED a tank to hold agro is pretty small. hell, since i was on an all Troller MoSTF I'd say tankers are pretty much unneeded. |
I'm really looking forward to playing my brutes on teams with tanks more often so I can just focus on killing stuff and have no obligation to "tank".
@Joshua.
For once I am in total agreement with Frosticus.
Tankers IMHO are the best Melee AT in the game. But this is because it totally makes me smile to jump into a pile of enemies and watch them fitfully beat on me with little to no effect. No other AT can take the "beating" that a Tanker can withstand, and thats before you get IOed up.
So, if you want to do more damage, by all means go roll up one of those squishy ATs (yes, I mean Brutes too)... but, if you want to pound stuff into the dirt while being nearly unkillable, stick with your Tanker.
You will not be disappointed

Thanks for the build, as a comparison this is the SD/SS/Pyre build that I'm working towards. It has got more recharge and survivability but I must admit the difference in recharge isn't as big as I thought it would be.
