Willpower/Fire Tanker Needs Help

I just came back to City of Heroes from a break and I started to pay more attention to my Willpower/Fire tanker. He REALLY needed work, I have been doing the best i can but he needs IOs. Im planning on having this character farm mishes primarily and I am not great with slotting and getting IOs by myself. I am going to respec him but I only have one respec so please post your builds and ideas and such below. I do have Mid's Hero Designer so do put up custom builds from that here.

Alright, now it isn't well thought up, made him more for defense and I didn't buy many good enhancements because I am no good at them. Here is my current build and enhancements, I have a respec that I will probably use because of my slotting. The Pool powers I am willing to change but the ones i have are pretty standard. This is going to be a farm character so I don't really need a travel power. Please take a look, revise, and reply with ideas and such.

Welcome to the world of Enhancement Diversification, from now on known as ED.

What that basically means is that once you start slotting in 3+ enhancements of any one kind you're going to get diminishing returns on that enhancement. So it's pretty pointless to slot more then 3 of anyone type, and some folks don't think it's even worth using a third. See the above link for a fuller explanation.

So, don't bother with more then 3 heals in Fast Healing, Rise to the Challenge, and Health. No more then 3 End Mods in Quick Recovery and stamina. No more then three defense/resist Mods in anything... Etc, etc, ad-nauseum.

So, move a bunch of those slots around into your attacks, etc. as helping to defeat the enemy will also help in your survival. You'll want acc, end redux, damage and recharge, and not necessarily in that order.

That's at least something to start thinking about for now.

I don't like Melt Armour, don't feel its worth a pick, its effect per end/time is not much different from assault but assault is more reliable but perhaps you need it for fireball and as an option.

Wow thanks, was just about to ask about enhancements, clicked back and your new post was there! I do see there is a MASSIVE difference in the stats, I am analyzing the build, experimenting with some other ideas and such but yours seems very rock solid. I am going to give it some time though to see if any other ideas pop up in here since i only have one respec and don't feel like doing a respec trial quite yet. Thanks alot!

Btw, i pick Melt armor because I figured it would be better than another single target attack and the defense debuff could make it a little easier on me. Best of a bad situation in my opinion.

Your welcome, it was done in 20 mins, so I don't expect it to be gold, a thorough check is better. Without my looking into it in detail for softcap to S/L you might have to change a couple of powers. Haste itself is something that could be unmissable depending on how you like your rechg times on the aoes.

The set enhancements you put on powers like Fire Sword Circle for example, you have all six Obliteration. Was it for the set? It does have a nice bonus for six but Armaggedon has a larger buff. For example Obliteration has 42.4% damage, Armaggedon has 53% damage buff. Was it for the defense buff? I am still getting up to date with all these new enhancement classes they added to the game...

The 6th slot gives 1.88% s/l def bonus I think. I never afai can remember do suggestions with purples as theyre expensive. I don't know who has 2 billion and who hasn't. Most people alt a lot and probably don't.

I was looking and twinking with the build, took out hasten to put in Manuevers for the extra defense, took slots off of Indomitable Will (Or w/e it called) since it only defends against Psionics and put them in others for set bonuses and such. If you have time, or if anyone else viewing this page has time, take a look at this build and see what is good/bad about it, revise it, and post a better one.

You've given up 5% psionic defense for a bit of regen, a bit of end recovery and tohit buff from what I can see. If I can't get a great amount of defense to Psionics alone I would look at how much defenders/controllers can stack to my build and see how far to softcap my build would be combined with their abilities.
