I guess what bothers me most about this whole thing is the insistance that the Devs should make EVERY idea a player has a feasible one within the cofines of the game. To me, it is far more fun, and imaginitive, to work with the limited options that we have, and to make them work in the best ways one can. If you create some ridiculous concept like a bunny wielding panther and then get mad because you can't make it in the game... well, the problem does NOT lie with the Devs.
I certainly hope you're not referring to my original post. Because I never made any such insistence nor do I have some random ridiculous concept that I find fault with the devs for not allowing.
I simply asked for the functionality to have multiple types of weapons w/o requiring a new powerset for it. A functionality that I hoped was less complicated than a new powerset to implement (which apparently I was wrong to some degree as there's plenty of complication implied in this thread ).
The concept for what it's worth was a melee oriented toon based on face cards (with the name Face Card) who with his King of Diamonds costume would use axes, with his King of Spades costume use swords and the Queen of Clubs uses.. a club/mace/hammer. Etc. If I stick with the melee concept for this toon then I'll try to work in swords, use the vet reword axe and mace mastery from Patron pools. It's definitely not the same or as fluid and immersive as the original wish list item but it helps with a few iconic trappings here and there.
And I've also had plenty of other concepts for weaponmaster types - a Warrior Goddess for example that used shields and various blades/smashing weapons.
I implement these concepts regardless of the limitations of realizing them fully in game, I figured I'd put a suggestion forth that would carry the concepts further since these were things that I *could* do in other games. However, I don't like said other games as much as I love City of.
