Advanced shadows resetting
Yeah, this has been happening to me as well. It resets every time I open the graphic options window, but as long as I don't click apply then it doesn't actually change anything. Like you said, the only work around is to set your advanced shadow options every time you need to change something on the graphics options window.
To update, I installed the latest 258.96 drivers and that didn't fix the issue for me. Thanks for posting Zaloopa, least I know I'm not the only one that is seeing this. TC
This occurs for me as well. I believe this is actually a bug with the Options system, not your specific system configuration.

Noticed this happening, and wondered if others are getting the same. Havn't updated to the latest nvidia drivers, 258.96, but on the previous versions atm. I'll give the new ones a go later, but seems some have had problems with crashs while entering base portals with these.
What happens is if I open the options menu for advanced graphics, then enable advanced shadows. Move the slider to, say, near shadows only, click apply, close the menu. All is good, but if I reopen the menu to adjust something else, the slider gets reset to "far" and the graphics change. This seems to happen for other shadow adjustments as well.
I know I can make my other adjustments, then change the shadow details, "last", so they will remain in place, but was wondering if this is workin as intended or maybe it's a lil bugged?
It may also be causing some problem for other people's frame rates, thinking their lowering settings to get better frame rates, then by reopening the menu, the settings change back to higher, and thus slower frames. Thanks.
